Cleric class guide (Human) — strengths, skills and a step-by-step

The Cleric is the heart that keeps the party alive: it heals, resurrects and still throws magic. An easy support to play and always welcome in any party.

by admin 7 min read

In short: The Cleric is the early-game healer for humans: it keeps the party standing with heals and resurrection, while casting damage spells to fend for itself. It is the perfect pick for anyone who likes being indispensable and prefers to support rather than micromanage everything.

Picture being the person who holds the line when everything goes wrong. While the others trade blows, you watch the party's health bars and top up whoever is about to fall. That is what playing a Cleric feels like.

At first you will farm solo with fire and ice spells, but the true essence of the class shows up in a group. There you become the pillar that decides whether the team wins or wipes — and you will rarely run short of party invites.

Overview

Profile
Race Human
Archetype Ranged caster
Playstyle Support and healing
Difficulty Easy
Main weapon Fists/blades (but fights with magic)
Position in the line 1st Class

The Cleric is part of the human mystic line: Human Mystic (Starter) → Cleric (1st Class). It is the first step on the support path, before you pick more specialized routes in the later professions.

Strengths

  • Powerful healing for the whole group. You have single-target and area heals, which keeps the party alive in long fights and makes you a sure pick on any team.
  • Sky-high magic power (INT 41). This is the class's biggest asset — among the best on the server (89th percentile), so your damage spells and your heals hit hard.
  • Resurrects fallen allies. Bringing someone back mid-battle saves time and stops the party from falling apart. Few classes can do this so early.
  • Self-sufficient for solo farming. Even as a support, you have fire, wind and ice damage spells, so you can level up without depending on anyone.
  • Good magic defense (mDef 41). You take less damage from magical enemies, which helps you survive while you look after the group.

Weaknesses

  • Very low mana (1300 at level 85). It sits at the bottom of the ranking (0 percentile), so the blue bar drains fast. Tip: use MP potions, enable mana auto-use and do not waste heals when they are not needed.
  • Fragile health (3285 at level 85). It is among the lowest (11th percentile), so you go down easily if the enemy targets you. Tip: stay behind your allies and let the tanks hold the monsters' attention.
  • Slow on foot (speed 124). It takes longer to flee or reposition (11th percentile). Tip: use a mount when you can and keep your distance from danger from the start.
  • Fragile alone against many enemies. Without a group, several monsters at once will take you down. Tip: pull one at a time and use crowd control (sleep) to avoid taking everything at once.

Class-defining skills

  • Self Heal — heals your own health; it is your emergency button when a monster hits you hard.
  • Battle Heal — a quick heal on an ally during combat; ideal for stabilizing someone who is falling mid-fight.
  • Heal — a stronger single-target heal; use it when someone needs to recover a lot of health at once.
  • Group Heal — heals the whole party at once (area heal); essential in fights with several enemies attacking the team.
  • Resurrection — brings a fallen ally back to life; saves the party from wasting time walking back from town.
  • Divine Strike — a holy damage spell (magic damage); your main nuke to help bring enemies down.
  • Sleep — puts an enemy to sleep (crowd control); use it to switch off a dangerous monster while the group handles the rest.
  • Cure — removes bad effects from an ally (debuff cleanse); strips poisons and curses that are getting in the way.
  • Magic Barrier — a buff that raises the target's magic defense; great before facing enemies that cast spells.

Attributes: what to prioritize

The Cleric is a magic class, so everything revolves around magic power and mana. You want to heal and deal damage hard, without running out of blue mid-fight.

  • INT (magic power) — your number-one priority: it makes heals and spells stronger.
  • MEN (mana) — essential, because your blue bar is short; more mana means more heals in a row.
  • WIT (cast speed) — helps you heal and attack faster, which can save an ally in time.
  • CON (health) — a little extra so you do not fall so easily, since your health is low.

As a magic class, the Cleric wears robe (cloth armor), which boosts your power and your mana. Focus on items with INT and MEN bonuses. For the weapon, prefer magic options that raise your magic attack. What to upgrade first: the weapon, because it makes the biggest difference to the strength of your heals and spells, and then the robe pieces to gain more mana and defense.

Step-by-step for beginners

  1. Create the character. Choose the Human race and the starter mystic class; the Cleric is born from this support line.
  2. Do the first quests in the starting area. They give basic gear, Adena and quick levels so you start on the right foot.
  3. Turn on auto-hunt. This feature makes the character farm on its own in zones at your level, attacking monsters and gaining experience without you having to click all the time.
  4. Follow the professions in order. Start as a starter mystic, become a Cleric at the 1st class and then advance through the 2nd and 3rd professions — each leap unlocks stronger heals and new spells.
  5. Prioritize the right skills. Always grab the heals and resurrection as soon as they unlock; then reinforce your damage spells to farm faster.
  6. Gather Adena and L-Coin. Farm by killing monsters and completing missions; use that money to buy MP potions, improve gear and avoid falling behind.
  7. Keep your weapon and armor up to date. Whenever possible, swap to better pieces of your level — old gear leaves your heals and spells weak.
  8. Join a party as soon as you can. It is in a group that the Cleric shines: heal your allies, resurrect those who fall and watch your experience climb much faster.

Where to farm

  • Auto-hunt on monsters of your level. Leave the character farming in areas matched to your level to gain experience steadily and safely.
  • Move up to harder zones as you grow. As you get stronger, migrate to regions with tougher monsters that give more experience and better rewards.
  • Join a party for raids and bosses. As a Cleric, you are a key piece in groups against bosses — your heals and resurrections make the difference and the prizes are bigger.
  • Use the Season Pass and daily missions. They give extra rewards just for playing; complete the tasks every day to speed up your progress.

Common beginner mistakes

  • Wasting mana for nothing. Healing when no one is hurt empties your blue bar and leaves you without resources at the critical moment.
  • Standing on the front line. Your health is low; taking the front makes you an easy target and you fall before you can help the group.
  • Ignoring MP potions. Without mana you are useless; always carry potions and enable auto-use so you are never caught short.
  • Forgetting to upgrade gear. Old robe and weapon drag down the strength of your heals and spells — always invest in your equipment.

This is for you if…

  • You like being indispensable. The Cleric is always called to the party because it keeps everyone alive.
  • You prefer to support rather than be in the middle of the action. Healing, protecting and resurrecting suits you more than going head to head.
  • You want a class that is easy to start. The kit is simple to understand and forgiving of mistakes, great for those who are learning.
