Elven Scout class guide (Elf) — strengths, skills and step-by-step

The Elven Scout is the swift elf who dances around the enemy: low health, but absurd speed and dexterity. See why this class is perfect for anyone who loves mobility.

by admin 7 min read

In short: The Elven Scout is an elven melee fighter built around extreme speed and dexterity. It trades defense for mobility — perfect for anyone who loves to strike fast, dodge, and stay constantly on the move.

Imagine an elf who moves faster than almost any other creature in the world. He isn't the strongest or the toughest, but he's nearly impossible to keep up with. Where a heavy warrior takes one step, the Elven Scout has already circled around three times.

Playing an Elven Scout feels nimble and twitchy. You rush in, unload quick strikes, and reposition before you take damage. It's a class that rewards anyone who enjoys fast pacing and always being one step ahead.

The Elven Scout is the second step in the elven combat line. The progression goes like this: Elven Fighter (Starter) → Elven Scout (1st Class). This is where the elven fighter starts to show its identity as the battlefield's speedster.

Strengths

  • Extremely high speed — With run speed at the top of the server (among the fastest 4%), you catch fleeing enemies, escape trouble, and farm faster because you waste less time walking between monsters.
  • Elite dexterity (DEX 35) — High dexterity (also top of the server) means a greater chance to land critical hits and not miss attacks. In practice, you hit more often and crits hit harder.
  • Self-sufficiency in the field — The kit brings healing over time (Recover HP) and mana recovery (Recover MP), so you stay alive and active without relying on potions or a healer all the time.
  • Its own buff package — Skills like Haste, Wind Walk, and Berserker Spirit make you even faster and more aggressive without needing a support beside you — great for solo play.
  • Excellent for auto-hunt — High speed + self-buffs + passive healing make the Elven Scout a solo farming machine, killing a monster and running to the next almost without stopping.

Weaknesses

  • Low health (among the most fragile on the server) — With little health, you die quickly if you take too many hits. Tip: never pull several monsters at once and always keep HP potions on auto-use.
  • Limited mana — Mana is also low, so you can't spam skills without running dry. Tip: use Recover MP and save your more expensive skills for the important moments.
  • Low defense in exchange for speed — You're fast, but you don't have the toughness of a heavy warrior. Tip: use your mobility to avoid damage instead of trying to tank head-on.
  • Irrelevant magic damage — Your strength is in physical strikes; magic barely counts. Tip: focus 100% on physical stats and gear and ignore anything magic-oriented.

Class-defining skills

  • Power Strike — A strong one-handed physical strike. It's your reliable damage button to open against any enemy.
  • Mortal Blow — A precise strike (a "blow") that deals a high spike of physical damage. Use it to rip off a big chunk of the target's health at once.
  • Power Shot — Another high-impact physical attack, great for varying your rotation and keeping the pressure on.
  • Haste — Increases your attack speed. Turned on, you hit much faster — practically mandatory at all times.
  • Wind Walk — Increases movement speed. Combined with your natural speed, you become practically impossible to catch.
  • Berserker Spirit — An aggressive buff that trades a bit of defense for more offensive power. Turn it on when you want to farm faster and you're safe.
  • Recover HP — Healing over time (health that comes back little by little). It keeps you standing while farming without burning so many potions.
  • Recover MP — Restores mana little by little. Essential to not run out of resource while using your skills.
  • Recovery — Removes negative effects from you (a way to "cleanse" debuffs). Use it when you're rooted, slowed, or under any bad effect.

Attributes: what to prioritize

The Elven Scout lives off fast physical strikes and crits, so anything that boosts physical damage, health, and accuracy is worth gold. Since it's fragile, a bit of CON also helps a lot to survive.

  • STR (Strength) — Boosts your physical damage, which is your main source of power. Top priority.
  • DEX (Dexterity) — Improves crit and hit chance; it pairs perfectly with the class's already-high dexterity.
  • CON (Constitution) — Gives more health and survivability, something this class badly needs because it's fragile.
  • MEN (Mentality) — A little helps with mana, but it's not the main focus.

Focus on agile, fast combat weapons that take advantage of your high attack speed. For armor, prefer light armor: it matches the class's speedy style and doesn't get in the way of your mobility.

What to upgrade first: start with the weapon, because it boosts your damage the most. Then invest in armor to gain survivability and, finally, in jewels and stats. Always keep the weapon a few levels ahead — for this class, damage comes before everything.

Beginner step-by-step

  1. Create the character — Choose the Elf race and the elven fighter starter class. At first you're an Elven Fighter; the Elven Scout comes with the first profession change.
  2. Do the first quests in the starting area — They teach the basics, give starter gear, and the first levels without any hassle.
  3. Turn on auto-hunt — With it active, your character farms by itself in zones of your level, attacking monsters automatically. It's the main way to level up in Essence.
  4. Follow the professions: base → 1st → 2nd → 3rd — Each class change unlocks new and stronger skills. The 1st makes you an Elven Scout; the next ones boost your speed and offensive power even more.
  5. Prioritize the right stances and buffs — Keep Haste and Wind Walk always on, and turn on Berserker Spirit when you want to farm faster safely.
  6. Secure Adena and L-Coin — Farm with auto-hunt to gather Adena, and use L-Coin (the special currency) to buy upgrades and useful items in the shop.
  7. Keep weapon and armor updated — Whenever possible, swap for better gear. A fragile class like this suffers a lot with outdated equipment.
  8. Use potions on auto-use — Set HP and MP potions to be used automatically; this prevents silly deaths while you farm.

Where to farm

  • Auto-hunt on monsters at your level — Always farm where monsters give good XP without killing you. Your speed makes this pay off a lot.
  • Move up to harder zones as you grow — As you gain levels and gear, shift to more dangerous areas that give more XP and better rewards.
  • Join a party for raids and bosses — Alone you're fragile; in a group, your speed and physical damage shine against big targets.
  • Use the Season Pass and daily missions — They are constant sources of rewards, XP, and items that greatly speed up your progress.

Common beginner mistakes

  • Pulling too many monsters at once — With the Scout's low health, that's almost guaranteed death. Take them a few at a time.
  • Trying to tank head-on — You're not a heavy warrior; soaking up hits isn't your role. Use speed to control the fight.
  • Forgetting to turn on Haste and Wind Walk — Without these buffs, you play at half your potential. Keep them always active.
  • Investing in magic stats or items — The class's magic damage is irrelevant. Anything you spend on it is wasted.

This is for you if…

  • You like speed and mobility — You love racing across the map, catching anyone, and never standing still.
  • You enjoy fast physical strikes and crits — You'd rather hit many times and see big numbers on crits than cast spells.
  • You want a class that's great for solo farming — You're after a self-sufficient character that levels up fast on auto-hunt.
