Eva's Templar Class Guide (Elf) — strengths, skills and step-by-step

The elven temple knight that pairs tank-level defense with absurd speed. Learn from scratch how to play it, which skills to use and how to level up.

by admin 7 min read

In short: Eva's Templar is the elven temple knight: a fast tank that holds the line, protects allies, and counterattacks with agility. It's perfect for anyone who wants to survive a lot and lead the front line without dying easily.

Picture a warrior in white-and-silver armor dancing across the battlefield. Eva's Templar isn't the class that kills everything in one hit — she's the wall that holds the enemy while your friends do the damage. And the best part: she does it with a speed few classes can match.

Playing Eva's Templar feels like being in control. You jump into the fight, switch on your shields, draw the monsters' attention, and simply don't fall. For a beginner, she's one of the most forgiving classes in the game — mistakes don't punish you as hard, because you can take the hits.

Eva's Templar is the final stop on a long road of elven knights. The path is: Elven Fighter (Starter) → Elven Knight (1st Class) → Temple Knight (2nd Class) → Eva's Templar (3rd Class). Each step boosts your resilience and unlocks new protective skills.

Strengths

  • Sky-high speed — With a run speed of 143 (among the best on the server), you chase down runners, reposition fast, and rarely fall behind the group. In practice, that means catching more monsters and wasting less time walking.
  • Excellent dexterity — High DEX (35, top of the server) improves your chance to hit and to land critical strikes. You miss fewer attacks and punish harder, even without huge base damage.
  • Tank-grade physical defense — Your base physical defense is very high, so monsters and players take a long time to hurt you. You're the class that stands in front taking the blows while everyone else attacks safely.
  • Complete survival kit — Between special shields, healing over time, and removing negative effects, you have the tools to keep yourself alive on your own. That makes you independent during farming sessions.
  • Great in a group — Your speed and attack buffs also help nearby allies. In a party, you don't just tank — you speed up the whole team.

Weaknesses

  • Low solo damage — Your base physical attack is modest, so killing monster by monster can be slow on your own. Tip: always keep an up-to-date weapon and crit jewels to make up for it.
  • Reliant on shield and armor — Without the right gear, your biggest advantage (defense) disappears. Tip: prioritize upgrading heavy armor and your shield before anything else.
  • Not a solo boss hunter — Because you deal little damage, taking down raids alone is slow or impossible. Tip: join a party for those targets and leave the damage to the attackers.
  • Limited MP for so many buffs — Keeping all your buffs and heals running drains mana. Tip: use mana potions and only activate what you need at each moment.

Class-defining skills

  • Power Strike — A strong single-target physical strike. It's your basic opener to start a fight and chip away at the enemy.
  • Mortal Blow — A precise strike ("blow") that delivers a spike of physical damage. Use it when you want to tear off a big chunk of health at once.
  • Power Shot — Another direct-damage physical strike. Good for varying your rotation and keeping the pressure on your target.
  • Majesty — A buff that boosts your defensive presence and helps you hold the monsters' attention. Switch it on at the start of a fight to pull aggro.
  • Ultimate Defense — An emergency shield that spikes your defense way up for a while. Save it for when you take a lot of damage at once.
  • Shield Mastery — Reinforces your shield use, raising your chance to block hits. It's the foundation of your survival as a tank.
  • Recover HP — Healing over time (regenerates health bit by bit). Turn it on while farming to stay full without stopping.
  • Wind Walk — A movement-speed buff for you and your allies. Use it whenever you need to run faster or travel between zones.
  • Haste — A buff that speeds up your attack rate. Keep it active to land more hits in the same time and make up for the modest base damage.

Attributes: what to prioritize

As a melee tank who lives by landing hits and taking them, Eva's Templar wants attributes that raise her chance to hit, her crits, and her survival. Focus on accuracy and resilience above everything else.

  • DEX (Dexterity) — Your star: improves crit and hit chance, which is what makes your modest damage worthwhile.
  • CON (Constitution) — Increases health and resilience; it's what keeps you standing on the front line.
  • STR (Strength) — Boosts physical damage, helping you kill faster solo.
  • MEN (Mentality) — Gives more mana and magic defense, useful for sustaining your buffs and heals.

Eva's Templar uses fast melee weapons (blades/fists) paired with a shield. The ideal armor is heavy, which supercharges your defense and fits the tank role.

First of all, raise the quality of your shield and heavy armor — that's what keeps you alive. Next, always keep your weapon updated for your level and add jewels that improve crit and accuracy. Don't spend everything on the weapon and forget defense: for this class, surviving comes before hitting hard.

Step-by-step for beginners

  1. Create the character — Choose the Elf race and the starter fighter class. You'll start as an Elven Fighter and grow from there.
  2. Do the first quests in the starting area — The starting-village missions hand out basic gear, some Adena, and your first levels effortlessly.
  3. Turn on auto-hunt — Auto-hunt makes your character farm on its own in zones around your level, attacking monsters automatically. It's the main way to level up in Essence; leave it running while you do other things.
  4. Follow the professions in order — Advance Starter → 1st → 2nd → 3rd class as your level allows. Each change unlocks stronger defense, buff, and survival skills.
  5. Prioritize the right skills — Switch on your defense buffs (shield) and speed/attack buffs (Haste, Wind Walk) and keep healing over time active. They're the heart of your kit.
  6. Gather Adena and L-Coin — Sell drops, do daily missions, and use what you earn to buy weapons, armor, and potions. L-Coin is for special items in the shop.
  7. Keep weapon and armor updated — At every level bracket, swap or upgrade your gear. Old gear stalls your growth, especially your defense.
  8. Join a party when you can — Playing with others speeds up farming, splits the costs, and prepares you for raids that pay off more.

Where to farm

  • Auto-hunt on monsters around your level — Leave your character farming in areas matching your level to earn XP and Adena steadily.
  • Move to harder zones as you grow — As you get stronger, migrate to tougher regions where monsters give more experience and better items.
  • Party for raids and bosses — As a tank, your place is holding the boss while the group deals damage; team up with others for those targets.
  • Use the Season Pass and daily missions — These activities give extra rewards every day and greatly speed up your progress.

Common beginner mistakes

  • Ignoring defense to focus only on the weapon — Since your strength is surviving, neglecting armor and shield throws away the class's advantage.
  • Trying to kill everything solo too fast — Your damage is low; expecting to farm like a pure attacker is frustrating. Accept the tank pace.
  • Leaving buffs and heals off — Without your buffs active, you become a plain warrior, much weaker than you could be.
  • Forgetting to manage mana — Running out of MP mid-fight drops your heals and shields; always carry mana potions.

This is for you if…

  • You enjoy taking hits and protecting the team more than dealing explosive damage.
  • You want an easy, forgiving class to learn the game without dying constantly.
  • You like being the anchor of the front line, pulling enemies and opening space for allies.
