Hell Knight class guide (Human) — strengths, skills and step by step

The Hell Knight is the ultimate human tank: a wall of steel that holds the monsters while the group destroys everything. See why it is perfect for beginners.

by admin 7 min read

In short: The Hell Knight is a human dark knight built to soak up punishment and protect the group. It is the classic tank — ideal for anyone who wants to survive easily, play at their own pace and be welcome in any party.

Imagine putting on heavy armor, raising a huge shield and simply walking into the middle of a horde of monsters without fear. That is what the Hell Knight offers. He does not die easily, he taunts enemies so they attack him instead of your friends, and he holds firm while the rest of the group does the damage.

For a beginner, the Hell Knight is a very welcoming choice. You make mistakes, you take damage, and you still stay on your feet. That huge margin for error makes learning light and fun, without the tension of dying with every slip.

The Hell Knight is the endpoint of a long and classic journey: Human Fighter (Starter) → Human Knight (1st Class) → Dark Avenger (2nd Class) → Hell Knight (3rd Class). Each profession makes you tougher and adds new tools to hold enemies.

Strengths

  • Extremely high sturdiness (CON 43, top 17% of classes) — CON is the attribute that turns into health and resistance. In practice, this means you take far more hits than almost everyone, which is exactly what a tank needs.
  • Solid strength (STR 40, top 26%) — STR increases your physical damage. Even as a defender, you still hit hard enough to build the monsters' hatred and keep their attention on you.
  • Huge physical defense (pDef 80) — this high number is the heart of the Hell Knight. The higher the physical defense, the less each blow hurts, and that is why he holds entire groups of monsters without breaking a sweat.
  • Can heal himself — with his own healing and regeneration skills, you stay alive without depending on a healer all the time. For a beginner, this is gold: you can farm solo with peace of mind.
  • Always welcome in a party — every group needs someone to soak up the damage. As a natural tank, you never lack a spot in hunts, raids and bosses.

Weaknesses

  • Lower level-85 health than it seems (3,435 HP, base near the bottom of the table) — despite the tough reputation, the raw HP number is not the biggest; his strength comes from defense, not from the size of the bar. Tip: invest in heavy armor and defense upgrades so your HP "stretches" much further.
  • Low damage compared to offensive classes — you were not made to kill quickly on your own. Tip: focus on surviving and holding enemies; leave the heavy damage to your groupmates or accept that solo farming is slower.
  • Little magic and mana (INT 21, WIT 11) — your magic skills and casting speed are weak. Tip: treat your spells as utility (healing, buffing) and do not rely on them for damage.
  • Slower progression pace — since it kills slowly, leveling up alone can take a while. Tip: use auto-hunt a lot and play in a party whenever you can to speed things up.

Class-defining skills

  • Power Strike — a strong single-hit physical strike. It is your reliable basic attack to start the fight and provoke the monster.
  • Mortal Blow — a precise strike that deals high damage all at once. Use it when you want to rip off a good chunk of the enemy's health quickly.
  • Majesty — a buff that reinforces you and increases the chance of keeping monsters focused on you. It is the essence of tanking: drawing attention.
  • Ultimate Defense — a special defensive shield that kicks in when things get tough. Trigger it when you are surrounded or taking too much damage to avoid going down.
  • Shield Mastery — improves your shield use, making you block more attacks. It is what turns the shield from an accessory into a wall.
  • Quick Heal — a fast heal on yourself. Use it between blows to stay on your feet without needing a healer nearby.
  • Recover HP — health regeneration over time (it heals little by little, second by second). Turn it on before or during the fight to keep yourself full.
  • Haste — a buff that speeds up your attack rate. Hitting faster means generating more hatred and keeping the monsters glued to you.
  • Wind Walk — a movement speed buff. It helps you reach enemies faster and reposition during hunts.

Attributes: what to prioritize

The Hell Knight is a tank, so everything revolves around surviving and holding enemies. Its natural attributes already point that way: lots of CON, good STR and DEX, and weak magic you do not even need to look at.

  • CON (your number 1 priority) — converts into health and resistance. It is what keeps you from going down.
  • STR — increases your physical damage, which helps keep the monsters' hatred on you.
  • DEX — improves accuracy and critical rate, making your blows more consistent.
  • INT, WIT and MEN (you can ignore) — tied to magic and mana, which are not this class's focus.

Your natural weapon is the sword used together with a shield — this duo is the soul of the Hell Knight, because the shield multiplies your defense. Always wear heavy armor, which gives the highest possible physical protection and matches the tank style perfectly.

When upgrading equipment, prioritize the armor and shield first (your survival), and only then the weapon. Keep everything upgraded as you level up so you do not fall behind.

Step by step for beginners

  1. Create the character — pick the Human race and start as a Human Fighter. This is the starting point of the line that leads to the Hell Knight.
  2. Do the first quests in the starting area — they teach the basics, give starter equipment and an easy push of levels.
  3. Turn on auto-hunt — auto-hunt makes your character farm on its own against monsters of your level, attacking and healing automatically. It is the most practical way to level up without being glued to the screen.
  4. Follow the professions in order — advance from Starter → 1st → 2nd → 3rd profession at the right levels. With each change you get stronger and gain new defense and protection skills.
  5. Prioritize the right skills — learn and keep your defense buffs on (like Majesty and Shield Mastery), the heals (Quick Heal, Recover HP) and the attacks that generate hatred. This is the kit that defines a good tank.
  6. Gather Adena and L-Coin — Adena comes naturally from auto-hunt; use it to buy equipment and consumables. L-Coin opens access to special store items, so save it carefully.
  7. Keep weapon and armor up to date — whenever possible, switch to gear of your level and upgrade the shield. Old equipment is the number one cause of stalling your progress.

Where to farm

  • Auto-hunt on monsters of your level — always start on enemies near your level, where you kill safely and gain steady experience.
  • Move up to harder zones as you grow — as you get stronger, move to areas with tougher monsters that give more experience and better rewards.
  • Form a party for raids and bosses — as a tank, your spot in these challenges is guaranteed; it is where you shine and get the best drops.
  • Use the Season Pass and daily missions — these tasks give extra rewards with little effort and help a lot with your daily progression.

Common beginner mistakes

  • Trying to play like an attacker — the Hell Knight does not kill fast, and forcing it only leads to frustration. Accept the wall role and everything flows.
  • Forgetting to turn on buffs and heals — running around without Majesty, Recover HP or the masteries active throws away half your strength. Always keep the defensive kit on.
  • Ignoring the shield and heavy armor — without them, you lose the class's biggest advantage. Prioritize these upgrades before anything else.
  • Letting equipment get old — running with weapon and armor below your level stalls your progress. Update often.

It is for you if…

  • You like surviving easily and playing without the tension of dying with every mistake.
  • You enjoy being the essential piece of the group, the one who protects everyone.
  • You prefer a patient, resilient style instead of chasing maximum damage.
