Orc Dragoon class guide (Orc Rider) — strengths, skills and step-by-step

Meet the Orc Dragoon: an orc bruiser with sky-high HP and speed who sticks to the enemy and simply refuses to die. A complete beginner guide.

by admin 7 min read

In short: The Orc Dragoon is a melee fighter of the Orc Rider race, built to dive into the fray, soak up punishment and never leave the enemy's side. It's the ideal pick for anyone who wants a tough, simple-to-play character that is extremely hard to kill.

Picture a huge, all-muscle orc warrior who runs faster than almost anyone on the server and carries a mountain of health. That's what playing an Orc Dragoon feels like: you're the one who charges in first, holds the line, and is still standing when everyone else has fallen.

This isn't a class of magic numbers or complicated combos. It's brute force, battlefield presence, and the calm confidence of knowing you can take a beating. For a beginner, that means less worrying about dying and more time learning the game.

Overview

Profile
Race Orc Rider
Archetype Melee combat
Playstyle Aggressive tank
Difficulty Easy
Main weapon Fists / hand blades
Position in the line 2nd Class

The Orc Dragoon is part of a very straightforward evolution line: Orc Lancer (Starter) → Orc Rider (1st Class) → Orc Dragoon (2nd Class). In other words, it isn't the final form of the class yet — there's room to grow, but it already delivers a clear tough-fighter identity from early on.

Strengths

  • Sky-high speed — with run speed at the top of the server (among the best), you catch enemies trying to flee, escape when you need to, and reposition in seconds. In practice, you're never left behind.
  • Impressive toughness (high CON) — high CON means lots of defense and stability. You take heavy hits without flinching and sustain combat far longer than fragile classes.
  • A sea of health (huge HP) — with one of the largest health pools in the game, you have an enormous margin for error. Missing a healing item or eating an extra hit isn't a death sentence, just another scare.
  • Naturally high physical defense — the Orc Dragoon's body is built to absorb physical monsters. That makes it great at holding groups of enemies while the party does the damage work.
  • Simple and forgiving — with no reliance on mana or complex spells, your job is clear: get close and hit. That makes life much easier for anyone just starting out.

Weaknesses

  • Almost zero magic power (very low INT) — forget dealing damage with magic; INT is one of the lowest in the game. Tip: don't try to play as a mage, focus 100% on physical combat and attack buffs.
  • Modest base physical damage — the Orc Dragoon holds up well but isn't the biggest damage dealer on its own. Tip: upgrade your weapon whenever you can and play in a party, where your resilience shines while others add damage.
  • Little ranged usefulness — you need to be glued to the enemy to be useful. Tip: use your sky-high speed to close the gap fast and never stand still taking damage from afar.

Class-defining skills

  • Blazing Fury — a buff (temporary boost) that raises your combat power. Activate it before entering a fight to hit harder.
  • Piercing — a strong, straightforward physical strike. It's your reliable damage skill to open and close fights against single targets.
  • Wild Rush — a charge that launches you quickly onto the enemy. Perfect for catching anyone trying to flee or for entering combat without wasting time.
  • Chant of Haste — a buff that reduces the time between your attacks, meaning you hit faster. Keep it always active to greatly increase your damage per second.
  • Chant of Wind Walk — a movement-speed buff. Since speed is your strong point, this makes you even nimbler for hunting and repositioning.
  • Recover HP — heals you gradually over time (continuous healing). Great for sustaining yourself during a long hunt without spending a healing item every minute.
  • Recover MP — restores mana gradually over time. Helps keep your buffs and abilities always available.
  • Bandage — removes negative effects (like bleeding). Use it when a monster applies something nasty to you and you want to clear the condition quickly.
  • Iron Body — a passive skill (always on) that reinforces your toughness. You don't press anything: it simply makes you even harder to take down.

Attributes: what to prioritize

The Orc Dragoon is a physical, resilient character, so your focus is to hit up close and endure. Since the game already sets the base attributes by class, your job is to reinforce what it already does well.

  • STR (Strength) — increases your physical damage. It's the stat that turns your resilience into a real threat.
  • CON (Constitution) — increases health and survivability. It's already sky-high on the class and is the heart of your tough-guy role.
  • DEX (Dexterity) — improves hit chance and critical rate. Useful for not missing strikes and adding extra damage now and then.
  • Ignore INT and WIT — magic and casting speed aren't part of your game; don't waste resources on them.

As a melee fighter, your main weapon is fists/hand blades — fast, close-range weapons. Wear heavy armor, which suits your tank role and boosts your physical defense.

The golden rule for beginners is simple: the first thing to upgrade is always the weapon (more damage solves almost everything early on), and right after that the heavy armor to endure more. Don't chase rare items too soon — simple, up-to-date gear beats pretty, outdated gear.

Step-by-step for beginners

  1. Create the character — choose the Orc Rider race and the starter class of the line (Orc Lancer). Don't worry about perfection now; the character evolves naturally.
  2. Do the first quests in the starting area — they give experience, basic gear, and teach the basics of the game. It's the fastest way to leave level 1.
  3. Turn on auto-hunt — auto-hunt makes your character farm on its own, attacking monsters of your level while you watch along. It's the main way to level up in Essence; activate it in a zone within your level range.
  4. Follow the professions: Starter → 1st → 2nd → 3rd — when you hit the right levels, change profession (Orc Lancer → Orc Rider → Orc Dragoon and beyond). Each change unlocks new skills and makes you stronger. Don't skip these transitions.
  5. Prioritize the right skills and buffs — keep Chant of Haste and Chant of Wind Walk always active, use Piercing as your main damage, and Wild Rush to reach enemies. Activate Blazing Fury before fights.
  6. Gather Adena and L-Coin — Adena comes from farming and selling drops; L-Coin is the special currency for better items. Hunting with auto-hunt generates both over time, so keep the character working.
  7. Keep your weapon and armor up to date — whenever you have spare Adena or L-Coin, upgrade the weapon first, then the heavy armor. Outdated gear is the number-one reason a character gets 'stuck' at a level.
  8. Learn to use healing and buff items — even with lots of health, having healing potions and your buffs active makes you hunt faster and die less. Set up your shortcuts early.

Where to farm

  • Auto-hunt on monsters of your level — hunting enemies in your level range gives the best experience with the lowest risk. Leave auto-hunt running and watch along.
  • Move up to harder zones as you grow — as your level and gear improve, switch to more dangerous areas that give more experience and better drops.
  • Party up for raids and bosses — your sky-high resilience makes you great at holding bosses while the group deals damage. That's where you earn the best rewards.
  • Use the Season Pass and daily missions — these tasks give extra rewards just for playing normally. Complete them whenever you can to speed up your progress.

Common beginner mistakes

  • Trying to deal damage with magic — the Orc Dragoon's INT is very low; investing in magic is throwing resources away. Focus on the physical side.
  • Forgetting to activate buffs — playing without Chant of Haste and Wind Walk active wastes a good chunk of your damage and mobility potential.
  • Letting gear fall behind — relying only on your huge HP and ignoring the weapon makes you hit weakly and kill slowly. Always upgrade.
  • Not taking the profession changes — delaying class evolution locks away your new skills. Switch as soon as it unlocks.

This class is for you if…

  • You like charging in head-on and being the hardest character in the group to take down.
  • You prefer a simple, direct style with no complicated magic combos, focused on hitting and enduring.
  • You want a forgiving character to learn the game with, one that survives your own mistakes while you get the hang of it.
