Shillien Elder Class Guide (Dark Elf) — strengths, skills and step-by-step

The Shillien Elder is the support heart of the Dark Elves: it heals, resurrects and weakens enemies while never letting go of its allies' hands. Learn how to play from scratch.

by admin 7 min read

In short: The Shillien Elder is the support and healing class of the Dark Elves, with a huge pool of mana and magic power to keep the party alive. It is perfect for those who like being indispensable in a group and prefer to think before they strike.

Imagine being the kind of character no one wants to lose sight of. When you are in the party, allies last longer, get back up when they fall and take on enemies they could never beat alone. That is the Shillien Elder: a dark cleric who trades raw damage for the art of keeping everyone standing.

Playing it has a calm, strategic rhythm. You watch your companions' health bars, pick the right moment to heal, cast a spell to weaken the most dangerous monster and, when needed, resurrect someone in the middle of battle. It is less about adrenaline and more about control.

The Shillien Elder is part of the Dark Elves' dark mage line. The progression path is: Dark Mystic (Starter) → Shillien Oracle (1st Class) → Shillien Elder (2nd Class). With each profession you gain stronger heals and more support tools.

Strengths

  • Practically endless mana — with 1847 MP at level 85 (the maximum in its category), you heal, debuff and attack many times in a row without running dry. In practice, that means you rarely stall in the middle of a fight.
  • Very high magic power — your INT of 44 is among the best on the server. This makes your heals bigger and your damage spells stronger, so you help the party in two ways at once.
  • Above-average health — 4091 HP at level 85 is a lot for a mage. It gives you a safety margin when an enemy reaches you, keeping you from dying to the first blow.
  • Complete support kit — you heal a single ally, heal the whole group, resurrect the dead and weaken enemies on top of that. Few classes offer so many answers to different situations.
  • Enemy control — spells that put the target to sleep or slow it down let you set the pace of the fight, holding the most dangerous monster while the rest of the party clears the others.

Weaknesses

  • Fragile against physical attacks — your Constitution (CON 24) is very low, among the lowest on the server. If an enemy gets close, you take damage fast. Tip: always stay behind the allies who hold the front line.
  • Slow to move — at speed 128 you cannot easily run from danger. Tip: position yourself in advance and do not wait to run only when things already look bad.
  • Low dexterity — DEX 23 means a lower chance to hit and to dodge. Tip: do not count on this character to avoid blows; count on the party to protect you.
  • Modest solo damage — you are not a solo killing machine. Tip: your value shines in a group; seek a party as soon as you can.

Class-defining skills

  • Self Heal — a heal for yourself. It is your first line of defense when you are farming alone and taking damage.
  • Battle Heal — a fast, direct heal for an ally. Use it in the middle of a fight, when someone takes a heavy blow and you need to react right away.
  • Heal — a bigger, more economical heal. Good for recovering health calmly between fights or when the damage was not so urgent.
  • Group Heal — heals all nearby allies at once. Essential when the whole party is taking damage from several monsters at the same time.
  • Resurrection — brings a fallen companion back into battle. This is what makes the Shillien Elder indispensable: without you, deaths cost far more time.
  • Sleep — puts the enemy to sleep, neutralizing it for a while. Perfect for taking the most dangerous monster out of the fight while the party focuses on another.
  • Wind Shackle — slows the enemy's attacks, reducing the damage it deals. Great against targets that hit hard.
  • Ice Bolt — a magic damage spell that also lowers the target's speed (a slow effect). It deals damage and holds enemies that try to flee or close in.
  • Divine Strike — a more powerful magic damage spell. It is your main way of contributing offense when the party does not need a heal at the moment.

Attributes: what to prioritize

The Shillien Elder lives on magic, so everything revolves around INT, MEN and your survival. As a support, the priority is not dealing lots of damage, but healing well and lasting in fights.

  • INT (magic power): your main attribute. Makes heals and spells stronger.
  • MEN (mana): keeps you casting spells longer without running out of energy.
  • CON (health/resistance): your biggest weakness; any boost here makes you much safer.
  • WIT (cast speed): helps you heal faster in critical moments.

As a magic class, the Shillien Elder uses light armor or robe, which suits its style and improves mana regeneration. Its "weapon" works as a magic focus: always prioritize one with good magic power (mAtk).

When upgrading, focus on the weapon first, because it directly increases the strength of your heals and spells. Then take care of the armor for more resistance, since you are naturally fragile. Accessories that raise mana or magic power are an excellent complement.

Beginner step-by-step

  1. Create the character — choose a Dark Elf from the mystic line. You start as a Dark Mystic and evolve into the Shillien Elder.
  2. Do the first quests in the starting area — they teach the basics, give starting gear and your first experience points with no difficulty.
  3. Turn on auto-hunt — this feature makes the character farm by itself against monsters of your level. Leave it active while you level up comfortably, especially in the early stages.
  4. Follow the professions in order — base (Dark Mystic) → 1st (Shillien Oracle) → 2nd (Shillien Elder). Each switch unlocks stronger heals and spells; make the change as soon as it becomes available.
  5. Prioritize support skills — learn and use your heals (Battle Heal, Group Heal), Resurrection and controls (Sleep, Wind Shackle). This is what defines the class.
  6. Keep your mana under control — you have plenty of MP, but use potions and rest so you never run dry in the middle of an important fight.
  7. Gather Adena and L-Coin — by hunting, selling your drops and completing missions. These resources pay for weapons, armor and upgrades.
  8. Always update weapon and armor — do not let your gear fall behind your level, or your heals and survival will suffer.

Where to farm

  • Use auto-hunt on monsters of your level — it is the safest, most consistent way to level up, with no risk of dying to enemies that are too strong.
  • Move up to harder zones as you progress — stronger monsters give more experience and better rewards, but only advance when your gear can handle it.
  • Join a party for raids and bosses — this is where the Shillien Elder shines; your healing and resurrection make possible fights no one could win alone.
  • Take advantage of the Season Pass and daily missions — they give extra rewards and speed up your progress considerably.

Common beginner mistakes

  • Trying to play it as a pure damage mage — the Shillien Elder exists to heal and support; insisting only on attack wastes the best of the class.
  • Standing on the front line — with the health and resistance it has, getting close to the enemy is a recipe for dying. Stay behind.
  • Forgetting the control skills — Sleep and the debuffs are worth gold; ignoring those tools makes fights much harder for the party.
  • Not updating the gear — a weak weapon makes your heals weak; keeping the magic focus up to date is a priority.

This is for you if…

  • You like being the pillar of the group, the kind of player without whom the party goes nowhere.
  • You prefer a more tactical, calm game, reading the fight instead of just hitting attack buttons.
  • You enjoy being part of groups, raids and bosses, where support makes all the difference.
