The Soul Finder is the fast melee fighter of the Kamael: it trades quick blows, dodges and even carries its own buffs. See real stats, skills and a beginner step-by-step.

In short: The Soul Finder is a fast melee fighter of the Kamael race, who trades quick blows with soul blades and carries its own buffs. It is for players who love being glued to the enemy, high damage and plenty of independence.

Picture a winged warrior who dives into the fight pressed right against the monster, striking before the enemy even notices. The Soul Finder is exactly that: fast, aggressive and full of its own tricks.

What makes it special is its independence. Instead of relying only on other players to gain speed or recover mana, the Soul Finder brings several "soul" buffs in its own kit. That makes solo farming enjoyable and the early part of the journey far smoother.

Overview

Profile
Race Kamael
Archetype Melee combat
Playstyle Aggressive and fast
Difficulty Medium
Main weapon Blades (fist style)
Position in the line 1st Class

The Soul Finder is the first big step on the Kamael fighter path. The route is: Jin Kamael Soldier (Starter) → Soul Finder (1st Class). In other words, you begin as a soldier fresh out of training and, at your first profession, become this specialist in fast combat.

Strengths

  • Sky-high Strength (STR) — with STR at the top of the list (among the highest on the server), every physical blow hits hard. That means you clear monsters fast, which greatly speeds up your farming and leveling.
  • Excellent Dexterity (DEX) — high DEX improves your hit chance and critical strike chance, those attacks that deal extra damage. In practice, you miss less and land more big-damage "lucky" hits.
  • Very high movement speed — you run faster than most classes. This helps you catch fleeing enemies, escape danger and reposition in a party without losing rhythm.
  • Its own soul buffs — the kit brings boosts to attack speed, movement speed and even health and mana recovery. You are not hostage to a support to perform well, which is great for solo play.
  • Decent physical defense for the archetype — the base physical defense helps you take hits from melee monsters while you trade blows right up against them.

Weaknesses

  • Very low mana — the mana pool is one of the smallest on the server. Use damage skills wisely and turn on mana recovery early; let your basic attacks do much of the work.
  • Low health (HP) — the Soul Finder is fragile for a melee style. Avoid pulling too many monsters at once and always keep healing potions on hand.
  • Average Constitution (CON) — since your toughness is only okay, heavy hits hurt. The tip is not to stand there taking damage: use your speed to control distance and health recovery to hold on.

Class-defining skills

  • Soul Slash — a strong physical strike (PDAM, meaning a direct physical-damage attack). It is your main ability to open a fight and bring enemies down faster.
  • Soul Haste — a buff that reduces the time between your attacks, making you strike more often per second. Always turn it on before you start farming.
  • Soul Wind Walk — a movement-speed buff. It makes you even faster at running between groups of monsters and catching those who flee.
  • Soul Acumen — reduces the casting time of your abilities, meaning they come out faster. Useful for fitting skills in mid-fight.
  • Recover HP — a heal over time (health that slowly comes back over a few seconds). Use it mid-farm to save potions and stay on your feet.
  • Recover MP — restores mana little by little over time. Essential for a short-mana class like this; turn it on the moment you see the blue bar drop.
  • Soul Berserker Spirit — an aggressive buff that trades a bit of safety for more offensive power. Great when you want to farm fast and feel confident about your health.
  • Soul Magic Barrier — increases your magic defense, helping you withstand enemies that use magic. Turn it on against magical monsters and bosses.
  • Soul Shield — a passive that constantly reinforces your defense without you doing anything. Always active, working in your favor.

Attributes: what to prioritize

The Soul Finder is a physical-damage machine that fights up close, so the priority is everything that makes the blow hurt and land. Since health and mana are short, it also pays to look at survivability without giving up on attack.

  • STR (Strength) — your main stat: it increases the physical damage of every blow.
  • DEX (Dexterity) — improves accuracy and critical chance; the more, the more consistent and "explosive" your damage becomes.
  • CON (Constitution) — gives more health and toughness; valuable because you are a bit fragile and stay glued to the enemy.
  • MEN (Mentality) — helps your mana pool and regeneration, a real weak point of this class.

For a weapon, look for light blades in the class's fast-combat style (fist/blade-type attack), prioritizing physical damage and attack speed. For armor, use light pieces: they balance protection with the agility and casting speed the Soul Finder loves.

Early on, focus on always keeping your weapon up to date, because that is what most increases your damage and farming speed. Then improve your armor to take more hits, and finally invest in jewelry and elemental attributes to refine the set.

Beginner step-by-step

  1. Create the character — choose the Kamael race and start as a Jin Kamael Soldier. It is the base from which the Soul Finder is born.
  2. Do the first quests in the starting area — they teach the basics and already hand out gear, potions and an experience boost for your first levels.
  3. Turn on auto-hunt — this feature makes the character farm by itself, automatically attacking monsters of your level. It is the heart of progression in L2 Essence: let it run while you keep an eye on it.
  4. Follow the professions in the right order — you start as a Starter, take your 1st Class (Soul Finder) and, later on, advance to the 2nd and 3rd profession. Each step unlocks stronger skills and more farming power.
  5. Prioritize the right skills and buffs — always keep Soul Haste, Soul Wind Walk and the HP/MP recoveries active, and use Soul Slash as your main strike. These are your "farming kit."
  6. Gather Adena and L-Coin — Adena comes from farming and selling items; L-Coin from the server's missions and activities. Save them to buy weapon and armor upgrades.
  7. Keep weapon and armor updated — whenever possible, swap to better pieces for your level. Outdated gear is the number-one reason for slow farming.
  8. Join a party when you can — playing with others speeds up experience and opens access to raids and bosses that give better rewards.

Where to farm

  • Auto-hunt on monsters of your level — always start in zones where enemies hit weakly and die fast, for safe and steady farming.
  • Move up to harder zones as you grow — as you gain levels and gear, migrate to areas with stronger monsters that give more experience and items.
  • Form a party for raids and bosses — these bosses need a group, but they pay out with rewards well above common farming.
  • Use the Season Pass and daily missions — they are guaranteed sources of experience, Adena and items just for playing normally.

Common beginner mistakes

  • Spending all your mana on skills — with short mana, spamming abilities nonstop leaves you dry. Balance basic attacks with skills and keep mana recovery on.
  • Pulling too many monsters — because you have low health, gathering too many enemies at once is a recipe for dying. Take it slow and respect your HP limit.
  • Forgetting your buffs — entering the farm without Soul Haste and the recoveries active wastes half the class's power. Turn everything on before you start.
  • Letting gear fall behind — running around with a weak weapon caps your damage and slows your farming. Upgrade whenever you can.

This is for you if…

  • You enjoy close, aggressive fighting — you want to dive among the enemies and strike fast, not shoot from afar.
  • You like playing with plenty of independence — you enjoy having your own buffs and not relying on a support all the time.
  • You prefer a fast pace — you love running fast, attacking fast and watching monsters fall one after another.
