Soul Ranger class guide (Kamael) — strengths, skills and step-by-step

The Soul Ranger is the Kamael hunter that mixes brutal speed with strikes that harvest souls. Find out why it's so fun and how to level it from scratch.

by admin 7 min read

In short: The Soul Ranger is a Kamael melee warrior — fast and aggressive — that fights with twin blades and stockpiles "souls" to power up its strikes. It's the perfect pick for anyone who likes to hit hard, chase the enemy down and never stand still.

Picture a winged hunter who dives into the fight, spins its blades and drains the essence of enemies with every hit. That's the Soul Ranger: an agile, elegant and lethal Kamael that trades heavy armor for mobility and explosive damage.

Playing a Soul Ranger is a constant dance. You run, close the gap, pour out fast strikes and use the souls you collected to become even deadlier. It's a class that rewards anyone who loves to stay in motion and control the rhythm of the fight.

Overview

Profile
Race Kamael
Archetype Melee combat
Playstyle Fast and aggressive
Difficulty Medium
Main weapon Blades / fists (close combat)
Position in the line 2nd Class

The Soul Ranger is part of the Kamael evolution line: Jin Kamael Soldier (Starting) → Warder (1st Class) → Soul Ranger (2nd Class). In other words, you still have a long road ahead, and each profession unlocks new abilities.

Strengths

  • Sky-high Strength (STR 41, top 98%) — among the server's classes, the Soul Ranger is almost at the top in Strength. In practice, that means hits that hurt a lot and kill monsters fast.
  • Excellent Dexterity (DEX 35, top 96%) — high DEX improves your accuracy and your critical hits. You miss less and land special strikes more often, which speeds up farming.
  • Very fast (Speed 140, top 87%) — your movement speed is one of the best. You catch fleeing enemies, escape danger and switch targets in the blink of an eye.
  • Its own soul system — the Soul Ranger collects "souls" during combat and spends them to reinforce strikes. It's an extra resource that rewards active play.
  • Full kit of personal buffs — it self-empowers with speed, attack speed and even healing over time. This makes the class very independent, great for playing solo.

Weaknesses

  • Low toughness (CON 27, only top 35%) — your resilience is low, so you have less HP than "tank" classes. Tip: never pull too many monsters at once and always keep healing potions on your hotkey.
  • Fragile against groups — being fast but not very durable, taking damage from several enemies at the same time is dangerous. Tip: fight one at a time and use your defense and dodge buffs before engaging.
  • Relies on getting close — as a close-combat class, you need to be on top of the enemy to deal damage. Tip: use your high speed to close the gap fast and bail out when you need to.
  • Stance/soul learning curve — managing buffs and the soul system takes a bit of practice. Tip: at first, focus on just 2 or 3 abilities and add the rest little by little.

Class-defining skills

  • Twin Shot — your direct-damage physical strike. It's the "hit hard" button you use to drop targets faster than with the normal attack.
  • Absorb Light Souls / Collect Light Souls / Collect Shadow Souls — abilities that collect "souls". These souls are the Kamael's special resource, used to power up other techniques. Use them mid-fight to keep your stock full.
  • Soul Haste — a buff that raises your attack speed (you hit more times per second). Always turn it on before farming; it's free, constant damage.
  • Soul Wind Walk / Fast Run — movement-speed buffs. They keep you fast to reach enemies and reposition; essential for mobility.
  • Recover HP — healing over time (it slowly restores your health). Great for staying on your feet while farming without burning through so many potions.
  • Recover MP — restores mana over time. Helps keep your abilities always available without running out of energy.
  • Soul Magic Barrier — a buff that raises your magic defense. Turn it on against monsters and bosses that cast magic to take less damage.
  • Ultimate Escape — a dodge and escape buff. Use it when you're surrounded or low on health to slip out of a bad spot.
  • Sharp Aiming — a precise aiming skill (snipe) that boosts the power of your ranged strikes at higher levels. Turn it on when you want to maximize damage.

Attributes: what to prioritize

The Soul Ranger is a physical close-combat fighter, so everything revolves around hitting hard, landing the hit and surviving. Prioritize what raises your damage and accuracy, and take some care of your fragile toughness.

  • STR (Strength) — your number 1 attribute. It directly raises the physical damage of your strikes.
  • DEX (Dexterity) — second most important. It improves accuracy and crits, making you farm faster and miss less.
  • CON (Toughness) — worth attention precisely because it's your weak spot; more CON means more HP to take the hits.
  • MEN (Mana) — a little helps sustain your abilities without running out of mana mid-fight.

As a close-combat class, the Soul Ranger uses touch weapons (blades/fists) — focus on upgrading your weapon whenever you can, because it defines most of your damage.

For armor, prefer light pieces: they give mobility and attack speed, which match the class's fast style. First, raise the level and enchantment of your weapon; then complete the light armor set. Accessories that give STR, DEX and HP are the most useful.

Beginner step-by-step

  1. Create the character — choose the Kamael race and start as a Jin Kamael Soldier. Don't worry about anything technical at the start; the game guides you.
  2. Do the first quests in the starting area — they give XP, basic gear and teach the combat basics. Follow the markers on the map.
  3. Turn on auto-hunt — this is the feature that makes your character farm on its own, automatically attacking monsters of your level. Activate it in a suitable zone and it handles the bulk of your leveling.
  4. Follow the professions: Starting → 1st → 2nd → 3rd — when you reach the right levels you change class (Soldier → Warder → Soul Ranger and beyond). Each change unlocks new abilities and more power.
  5. Prioritize the right skills — always turn on Soul Haste (attack speed) and the movement buffs; use Twin Shot as your main damage; keep Recover HP/MP on to save potions.
  6. Gather Adena and L-Coin — Adena is the main money to buy consumables and upgrades; L-Coin is the special currency for shop items. Sell what drops and complete missions.
  7. Keep weapon and armor updated — as you level up, swap for better gear. Old gear caps your damage and gets you killed for nothing.
  8. Mind your toughness — since your CON is low, always keep healing potions on your hotkey and don't get reckless pulling too many enemies at once.

Where to farm

  • Auto-hunt on monsters of your level — the safest and most efficient way to level. Leave your character farming in zones suited to your current level.
  • Move up to harder zones as you evolve — when monsters start dying too easily and giving little XP, that's the sign to look for a stronger area.
  • Form a party for raids and bosses — big targets give better rewards but require a group. Invite friends or join a public party.
  • Use the Season Pass and daily missions — they're steady sources of XP, Adena and items for little effort. Complete them every day.

Common beginner mistakes

  • Forgetting to turn on buffs — going into a fight without Soul Haste and the speed buffs wastes a lot of the class's potential.
  • Pulling too many monsters — with the Soul Ranger's low toughness, grabbing a whole group is a recipe for dying. Fight carefully.
  • Ignoring the weapon upgrade — many players hoard Adena and never improve the weapon. Your weapon is your damage; invest in it first.
  • Not collecting souls — forgetting the "Collect/Absorb Souls" abilities means giving up a power resource unique to the class.

It's for you if…

  • You like fast, aggressive combat and always being on the move.
  • You enjoy managing your own resource (the souls) to squeeze out extra damage.
  • You'd rather drop enemies quickly than hold back behind a shield.
