The elven Sword Singer is a fast, sturdy melee fighter who blends blade-dancing with support buffs. See real skills, attributes and a step-by-step to get started.

by admin 7 min read

In short: The Sword Singer is a swift elven warrior who fights on the front line and also strengthens the party with chants and auras. It is the perfect pick for anyone who wants to fight up close, survive well, and feel useful in a party from early on.

Picture an elf who dances across the battlefield: while striking enemies with nimble blades, he sings songs that make allies stronger and faster. That is the soul of the Sword Singer — half combatant, half support.

In practice, playing a Sword Singer feels great because you are almost never standing still. You run fast, dodge well thanks to high Dexterity, and even mid-fight you still have a button to help whoever is by your side. It is a class that rewards players who love constant action.

The Sword Singer is part of the elven combat line: Elven Fighter (Starter) → Elven Knight (1st Class) → Sword Singer (2nd Class). In other words, it is already a mature evolution of the elven warrior, with its own buff kit.

Strengths

  • Very high speed (143 movement, top 4% of classes). In practice you reach monsters first, escape trouble easily, and farm faster because you waste less time walking.
  • Excellent Dexterity (35 DEX, top 4%). DEX boosts accuracy and critical chance, so your strikes miss less and hit harder more often — perfect for a fighter who lands many hits.
  • Good health pool (3945 HP at level 85, above average). With plenty of HP you can take front-line damage without fleeing at every bump.
  • Solid physical defense (80 base P.Def). Together with the shield, this makes you hard to drop in melee, which is essential for someone who stays close to the enemy.
  • Built-in support kit. Besides hitting, you have buffs for speed, attack, and healing over time — so solo or in a group you always add value.

Weaknesses

  • Little magic power (base M.Atk 6). Your damage comes from the physical, not from magic. Tip: do not try to "build as a mage" — focus on a physical weapon and critical hits.
  • Low Wit and Mentality (WIT 14, MEN 26). This means modest MP and slower casting for your buffs. Tip: use your chants at the start of the fight and avoid spamming skills needlessly so you do not run dry on mana.
  • Short range (melee, atkRange 20). You have to stick to the enemy, which exposes you to raids and damage zones. Tip: position well and let the tank hold bosses while you attack from the side.
  • Relies on gear to shine. Since your damage comes from hitting a lot, a weak weapon means slow kills. Tip: always prioritize upgrading the weapon before anything else.

Class-defining skills

  • Power Strike — a strong physical strike (PDAM = a physical hit with extra damage). It is your basic opener against common targets.
  • Mortal Blow — a BLOW-type attack, that is, a thrust that can deal high damage in one go. Use it when you want to tear off a big chunk of the enemy's health.
  • Power Shot — another physical strike (PDAM) at short range, useful to start the fight or to reach someone trying to flee.
  • Wind Walk — a movement speed buff (speed_up). Turn it on to run even faster between monster packs and chase targets.
  • Haste — a buff that speeds up attack speed (attack_time_down). More hits per second means more damage and more crits. Keep it always active.
  • Recover HP — healing over time (dot_heal) that restores health bit by bit. It is your stamina for long farms so you do not have to stop as much.
  • Majesty — a presence buff that reinforces your stance in combat. Activate it in more dangerous fights or against strong targets.
  • Ultimate Defense — a special physical defense buff (pd_up_special). It is your "panic button": switch it on when damage gets heavy to hold firm.
  • Recovery — a cleanse skill (NEGATE) that removes bad effects. Use it when you are stunned, slowed, or cursed to get back to normal.

Attributes: what to prioritize

The Sword Singer is a physical fighter, so anything that boosts your melee damage and survivability is worth gold. Do not waste points or items on magic.

  • DEX (Dexterity) — your number-one priority: more crit and more accuracy, which multiplies your damage on every hit.
  • STR (Strength) — increases raw physical damage; always go hand in hand with DEX.
  • CON (Constitution) — gives more HP and stability; useful to hold the front line.
  • MEN (Mentality) — only enough to keep MP for your buffs; no need to invest heavily here.

Focus on a blade/melee weapon with good physical damage — that is where most of your power comes from. For armor, use light armor: it matches your Dexterity, gives good defense without slowing you down, and keeps your crit up.

Always carry a shield to make use of your defensive passives. And the golden rule: upgrade the weapon first, then the armor, and the accessories last.

Step by step for beginners

  1. Create the character. Choose the Elf race and follow the combat line (Elven Fighter). That is the starting point of the future Sword Singer.
  2. Do the first quests of the starter area. They teach the basics, hand out starter gear, and give a smooth experience boost.
  3. Turn on auto-hunt. In L2 Essence the character farms by itself: it picks targets, attacks, and uses skills automatically in zones at your level. Leave it on to level up even while you sort out the rest.
  4. Follow the professions in order. Base (Elven Fighter) → 1st (Elven Knight) → 2nd (Sword Singer) → 3rd. With each switch you gain new skills and get noticeably stronger.
  5. Prioritize the right skills. Keep Haste and Wind Walk on, use Power Strike and Mortal Blow in combat, and save Ultimate Defense for the tough spots.
  6. Gather Adena and L-Coin. By selling drops and completing missions you stack the currency to buy upgrades and consumables. Do not spend it all at once.
  7. Keep weapon and armor updated. Whenever you can, swap for a better tier — old gear stalls your progress more than anything else.
  8. Join a party when possible. Sharing buffs and splitting the farm speeds everything up, and your support kit makes you always welcome.

Where to farm

  • Use auto-hunt on monsters at your level. It is the most efficient way to level early without dying needlessly.
  • Move up to harder zones as you progress. Stronger monsters give more experience and better drops once you can take the heat.
  • Form a party for raids and bosses. Solo is risky; in a group both damage and survivability add up, and the rewards are much better.
  • Make the most of the Season Pass and daily missions. They give extra rewards just for playing what you would play anyway.

Common beginner mistakes

  • Trying to build around magic. The Sword Singer lives on the physical; investing in INT/M.Atk is a total waste.
  • Forgetting to turn on buffs. Walking around without Haste and Wind Walk is playing at half strength — always reactivate them after dying or changing zones.
  • Ignoring the weapon. Many people upgrade armor and forget the weapon; the result is slow kills and stalled farming.
  • Standing still in front of bosses. Without positioning you take area damage for nothing; let the tank hold and attack from the sides.

This class is for you if…

  • You like fast, up-close melee action, always in the thick of the fight.
  • You enjoy a versatile class that hits well but also helps the group.
  • You prefer something sturdy that holds the front line without dying every minute.
