Trickster class guide (Kamael) — strengths, skills and step-by-step

The Trickster is the agile Kamael that lives off Souls: blistering speed, melee damage and a toolbox of buffs it casts on itself. Learn how to play it from scratch.

by admin 7 min read

In short: The Trickster is a melee fighter of the Kamael race that trades toughness for speed and initiative. It's the ideal class for anyone who likes to strike fast, buff themselves and always stay on the move.

Picture a winged warrior who doesn't depend on anyone to get strong: he summons Souls himself and turns them into speed, damage and protection. That's the Trickster. While other classes beg for a support next to them, the Kamael carries his own "backpack of buffs" and keeps fighting.

In practice, playing a Trickster feels light and full of constant pressure. You run faster, attack faster and land on the enemy before they can react — but you have to respect the fact that your body is more fragile than a tank's.

Overview

Race Kamael

Position in the line 3rd Class

The Trickster is the endpoint of a clearly defined Kamael line: Jin Kamael Soldier (Starter) → Warder (1st Class) → Soul Ranger (2nd Class) → Trickster (3rd Class). Each step makes you faster and more independent, until you become this final, Soul-packed version.

Strengths

  • Very high Strength (STR) — with STR at the top of the list (98th percentile), every melee hit lands hard. In practice, you clear monsters of your level very fast, which greatly speeds up farming and leveling.
  • Excellent Dexterity (DEX) — sky-high DEX (96th percentile) means more accuracy and more critical chance. You miss fewer attacks and take less time to drop each target.
  • Very high movement speed — at 140 speed (87th percentile) you position, chase and flee better than almost anyone. That's worth gold for escaping danger and catching enemies who try to run.
  • Self Soul buffs — the Trickster applies attack, movement and casting speed to himself without relying on another player. That makes you self-sufficient, perfect for solo play or auto-hunt.
  • Good base physical defense — physical defense (pDef 80) helps you withstand the beating from melee monsters while you cut them down. You're not a tank, but you also won't melt against physical enemies.

Weaknesses

  • Low toughness (CON) — with CON at the 35th percentile, your HP grows slowly and you take more punishment than beefy classes. Tip: prioritize armor with HP bonuses and don't dive into a crowd of monsters at once.
  • Fragile magic defense — magic defense (mDef 41) is much lower than physical, so enemy mages hurt you easily. Tip: keep the Soul Magic Barrier buff active and respect bosses that use magic.
  • Very short range — you fight glued to the enemy (range 20), so you don't get the comfort of attacking from afar. Tip: use your speed to choose when to engage and when to back off.
  • Relies on managing Souls — much of your kit revolves around absorbing and spending Souls. Tip: build the habit of recharging Souls before big fights so you don't run dry at the wrong moment.

Class-defining skills

  • Absorb Light Souls — absorbs Souls from enemies, which are the "fuel" for several strikes and buffs. Use it whenever possible so you never run out of resources.
  • Twin Shot — a strong physical strike (extra physical attack) with your blades. It's your direct-damage button to open and close fights.
  • Soul Haste — a buff that reduces the time between attacks, meaning it makes you hit faster. Turn it on at the start of farming and keep it always active.
  • Soul Wind Walk — a movement speed buff. Great for running between monster groups and escaping danger.
  • Soul Acumen — reduces the casting time of your abilities. It makes your skills come out faster, which raises the pace of combat.
  • Recover HP — a heal over time (gradual healing) that restores life little by little. Use it between fights to save potions.
  • Recover MP — restores mana over time (gradual mana). Keeps you stocked with resources to keep using skills during long farming.
  • Soul Magic Barrier — a buff that raises your magic defense, your weakest point. Essential against enemies and bosses that use magic.
  • Soul Stigma — a debuff that marks the enemy (betrayal mark), weakening them. Use it on important targets and bosses to increase the damage they take.

Attributes: what to prioritize

The Trickster is a physical, offensive class, so anything that boosts damage and survival is worth it. STR and DEX already come naturally high on the Kamael race and are your pillars.

  • STR (physical damage) — your number one priority; it's what makes every hit hurt.
  • DEX (crit and accuracy) — walks side by side with STR; more crits and fewer missed attacks.
  • CON (HP and survival) — reinforce this weak spot through equipment, since your base HP is low.
  • WIT (casting speed) — helps your skills come out faster, making combat smoother.

Your weapon is forearm blades (fist style), focused on fast attacks and crits. For armor, prefer light armor: it matches your agile style, keeping evasion and speed without weighing you down.

Early on, upgrade the weapon first — it's what raises your damage and farming speed the most. Then complete the light armor set and look for pieces with HP bonuses, since that's where you're most fragile. Don't forget to keep Soulshots and Spiritshots matching your level, because they multiply your damage a lot.

Beginner step-by-step

  1. Create the character — choose the Kamael race and start as a Jin Kamael Soldier. This is where the whole Trickster line is born.
  2. Do the first quests in the starting area — they give you basic gear, Adena and an XP boost. Do them all before heading out to hunt freely.
  3. Turn on auto-hunt — this feature makes the character farm on its own against monsters of your level, attacking and using skills automatically. It's the most practical way to level up while you learn the class.
  4. Follow the professions in order — advance Starter → 1st (Warder) → 2nd (Soul Ranger) → 3rd (Trickster). With each change you gain new skills and become stronger and more independent.
  5. Prioritize buffs and Souls — as soon as you learn them, keep Soul Haste, Soul Wind Walk and the HP/MP recovery buffs running, and use Absorb Light Souls to keep your resource full.
  6. Gather Adena and L-Coin — sell what you don't need from farming and complete missions; with Adena you buy consumables and upgrades, and L-Coin opens access to server shop items.
  7. Keep weapon and armor up to date — whenever possible, swap to gear of your level and upgrade the weapon first. Outdated gear is the number one reason for slow farming.
  8. Learn to retreat — use your speed to escape bad situations; a living Trickster farms far more than a dead one.

Where to farm

  • Auto-hunt on monsters of your level — the safest and most constant way to climb; let the character clear targets that give good XP without killing you.
  • Move to harder zones as you grow — as you gain levels and gear, migrate to areas with stronger monsters and better rewards.
  • Join a party for raids and bosses — bosses give much more XP and items, and in a group you offset your fragility with everyone's support.
  • Use the Season Pass and daily missions — they're constant sources of rewards that greatly speed up your progress with no extra effort.

Common beginner mistakes

  • Ignoring the Soul buffs — playing without Soul Haste and Soul Wind Walk throws away half the class's power; always turn them on.
  • Diving into a crowd of monsters — with low CON, pulling many enemies at once is a recipe to die; control how many targets you face.
  • Forgetting Soulshots — without them your damage drops a lot; always keep them equipped and stocked.
  • Letting the weapon fall behind — holding a low-level weapon stalls your farming; always prioritize upgrading the weapon.

This is for you if…

  • You like being fast and independent — you buff yourself and don't have to wait for a support to perform.
  • You enjoy aggressive melee combat — diving in, hitting hard and critting is the essence of the Trickster.
  • You accept being fragile in exchange for mobility — if you prefer speed and initiative over soaking damage, this class suits you.
