Season Pass (Hunt Pass): the complete guide

Learn from scratch how the L2 Samuray Season Pass works: the two tracks, how to earn points by hunting, how to claim a reward at every level, and tips to level up fast.

The Season Pass (also called the Hunt Pass) is L2 Samuray's seasonal progression system. As you hunt monsters you earn Pass Points, which raise your Pass level. Every level unlocks a reward. There are 209 levels in total and two reward tracks running side by side. This guide is written for players who have never used the feature: we start from zero, step by step.

The Season Pass is seasonal: it resets at the start of each period (by default on day 1 of the month). Claim your rewards before the reset.

What the Season Pass is

It is a progression bar with 209 levels. You advance simply by playing normally (hunting), and each level you reach unlocks a prize. There are two tracks:

  • Free track: available to every character at no cost.
  • Premium track ("Hunter's"): a second row of prizes, usually more generous, unlocked by activating the premium Pass.

Both tracks share the same level. So when you reach level 11 you can claim the free level-11 reward and, if your premium is active, also the premium level-11 reward. Premium does not speed up the level bar by itself: it unlocks the second column of prizes (and grants a farming bonus, explained below).

How to open the window

  1. Log in with your character.
  2. Open the Season Pass / Hunt Pass window from the feature icon in the interface (the same season/event menu button in the client).
  3. The window shows the list of levels with two reward rows per level: the top one is the free track, the bottom one is the premium ("Hunter's") track.

On L2 Samuray the reward list is sent by the server: what you see in the window is exactly what the server will hand out. If the window opens, the displayed rewards are the real ones.

Step by step

  1. Hunt monsters. Each monster killed is worth +1 Pass Point.
  2. Hunt in Time Zone areas. In time zones each kill is worth +1 extra point (that is, +2 per monster).
  3. Watch the bar. It takes 2,400 points per level. When you reach 2,400 points you level up automatically (the overflow already counts toward the next one).
  4. Get the notice. When you level up, the game tells you a reward is available.
  5. Open the window and claim. For each level already reached, click to collect the free reward.
  6. (Optional) Activate premium to unlock and also collect the second track (see below).
  7. Repeat up to level 209 and claim everything before the season ends.

How to get the premium track ("Hunter's")

The premium track is activated with the server's premium Hunt Pass activation item. Once active for the season, all premium rewards from levels you have already reached (and the ones you will still reach) become available to claim. It is worth it if you plan to farm a lot during the season, because the premium column usually brings much larger quantities and better items.

Premium Account vs. farming: if your character has a Premium Account (active premiumId), you earn +20% Pass Points while hunting. This bonus accumulates by fraction, so even the small +1/+2 per kill add up over time. A Premium Account and the Pass's premium track are different things, but they pair very well.

Sayha's Grace Sustention

The Season Pass also grants Sayha's Grace Sustention time (Sayha-point rewards appear on several levels). That time is stored as a reserve. When you turn on the effect, it is consumed while it is on and keeps your Sayha's Grace bonus active; when you turn it off, consumption stops and the remaining time is preserved. Turn it on when you are actually hunting so you don't waste the reserve.

Reward examples

The rewards vary a lot across the 209 levels: XP and buff scrolls, soulshot tickets, spirit ore, transformation scrolls, augmenting stones, lifestones/crystals, jewelry and much more. The premium track tends to give larger quantities. A few real examples from both tracks:

Level Free track Premium track (Hunter's)
1 XP Growth Scroll x4 Hunter's Awakening Rune (Growth Rune Fragment) x3
11 Soulshot Ticket x50 Soulshot Ticket x100
21 Spirit Ore x250 Spirit Ore x500
40 Enchant Package: Dragon Valley's Earring x5 Enchant Package: Dragon Valley's Earring x20
80 Augmenting Stone: Armor x4 Augmenting Stone: Armor x12
90 Hardin's Soul Crystal Lv.1 x3 Hardin's Soul Crystal Lv.1 x10
197 Dandy's Home Run Ball x1 Jewelry Box Lv. 4 x1
200 Aden's Soul Crystal Lv.1 - Armor x5 Package: Einhasad's Pendant Lv. 1 x5

Prizes marked (Sealed) are sealed versions of the item. At the final levels (201-209) the premium track delivers Growth Rune Fragment x3 per level.

Tips to level the Pass fast

  • Hunt in time zones whenever you can: it doubles points per kill (+2 instead of +1).
  • Use a Premium Account: the +20% Pass Points speed up the whole season.
  • Favor mob density: killing more per minute levels faster, since it's +1 point per kill.
  • Let auto-farm work: because the gain is per kill, long farming sessions yield many levels.
  • Claim early: collect levels as you reach them instead of stockpiling, so you don't forget at season's end.

Common mistakes

  • Waiting for premium to claim the free track. No need: the free track can be collected level by level already.
  • Activating premium too late. It does unlock the premium prizes of levels already earned, but activate early so nothing is left behind.
  • Forgetting the reset. The Pass is seasonal and resets (by default on day 1 of the month). Unclaimed rewards are lost.
  • Turning on Sayha's Sustention while not hunting. You burn the time reserve for nothing. Turn it on only when farming.

That's it: now just hunt, watch the bar and claim. Have a great season on L2 Samuray!
