Special Craft on L2 Samuray 557: The Complete Guide
Learn how to use the server's Special Craft: the four tabs, how each craft works, real chances and costs, the weekly limits, and tips for spending Giran Seal, L-Coin and Adena wisely.
Special Craft is the special crafting system of L2 Samuray (build 557). Instead of buying finished items, you combine materials and pay a fee to attempt to create rare gear and items — some recipes have a 100% success rate, while others depend on a chance and return a consolation material when they fail. This guide assumes you have never used the feature and covers everything: how to open it, what each tab crafts, how to read a recipe, the real costs, the weekly limits, and where it is worth investing.
Before you start: Special Craft is fully server-driven on this server. You don't need to install anything on the client — the recipes come straight from the server and may change as the catalog is updated.
What Special Craft is
It is a recipe-based crafting window. Every recipe has three parts:
- Materials (ingredients) — items and currencies that are consumed when you confirm the craft (for example Adena, L-Coin, Giran Seal, or a specific material).
- Result (production) — one or more possible items, each with its own chance to drop.
- Fail return — when a recipe has a low success chance, the remaining probability returns a consolation item (usually part of your materials back, such as Giran Seal or crystals).
The three main currencies in the system are Adena, L-Coin and Giran Seal. Some recipes use dedicated materials, such as Black Frozen Core and Frost Lord's Weapon Crystal (Frost Lord weapons) or Hellbound Energy (Sealed) (Hellbound talismans).
How to open Special Craft
- The Special Craft window sits alongside the server's crafting store (the same window family as the L-Coin Store / Limit Shop). Open it from the client's menu shortcut or from the matching store NPC.
- Once open, you'll see a row of tabs at the top. Click each tab to see that category's recipes.
- Select a recipe from the list. The panel shows the required materials and the result with its chances.
- Confirm the quantity and click Craft. The materials are consumed and the result (success or consolation) lands in your inventory immediately.
If an item in the list appears locked or cannot be confirmed, it means the recipe is not yet active in this server version (see "Common mistakes").
The four tabs
Special Craft is organized into four tabs:
- Special Equipment — Frost Lord weapons (13 types, from the Sword to the Dual Swords). This is where the elite gear crafts live.
- Armor and Accessories — Talismans (Speed, Eva, Hellbound, Venir's), accessories (Circlet of Hero, Phantom Mask, Spirit Agathion, Selected Jewel Coupon) and the shields/sigils (Shield of Vengeance, Sigil of Inevitability).
- Misc. — utilities: the Scroll: Enchant Accessories conversion, the Rewards (Elixir and the Dye boosters) and the Glorious Spellbooks (skill books paid in Adena only).
- Blessing — turns already-enchanted talismans and the belt (+5 to +10) into their Blessed version, consuming 2 copies of the item at the same level plus Adena, with augmentation transfer.
Step by step: your first craft
- Gather the materials. Check exactly what the recipe asks for. A Frost Lord weapon craft, for example, requires Black Frozen Core x1, Frost Lord's Weapon Crystal x1,700 and Adena 100,000,000.
- Open the right tab and select the recipe.
- Read the chances. The Frost Lord weapon has a 5.5% success (you get the weapon package) and 94.5% fail (you get 85 crystals back). Understand that you may fail several times.
- Confirm the craft. The materials leave your inventory and the result comes in.
- Open the (Sealed) package you received, if applicable, to use the final item.
Example recipes (real chances and costs)
| Recipe | Tab | Materials | Result | Weekly limit |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Frost Lord's Weapon (13 weapons) | Special Equipment | Black Frozen Core x1 + Frost Lord's Weapon Crystal x1,700 + Adena 100,000,000 | 5.5% weapon (Sealed) · 94.5% returns 85 crystals | No limit |
| Talisman of Speed | Armor and Accessories | Adena 1,000,000 + L-Coin 1,000 | 1% +6 · 5% +3 · 75% +1 · 19% 15 Giran Seal | 5/week |
| Phantom Mask | Armor and Accessories | L-Coin 2,000 + Adena 5,000,000 | 10% +2 · 25% +1 · 50% base · 15% 15 Giran Seal | 1/week |
| Spirit Agathion | Armor and Accessories | L-Coin 1,000 + Adena 2,000,000 | 20% each (Ignis/Nebula/Procella/Petram/Joy) | 20/week |
| Shield of Vengeance | Armor and Accessories | Giran Seal x18 + Adena 1,000,000 | 0.5% shield (Sealed) · 99.5% returns 11 Giran Seal | No limit |
| Elixir | Misc. | Elixir Powder (Sealed) x10 + Adena 10,000,000 | 5% Elixir · 95% returns 7 Powder | No limit |
| Glorious Spellbook (Enhanced Abilities Lv.1) | Misc. | Adena 200,000,000 | 100% the spellbook | No limit |
| Blessing — Talisman of Speed +5 | Blessing | +5 Talisman of Speed (Sealed) x2 + Adena 300,000,000 | 50% Blessed +5 · 50% returns the +5 | No limit |
The low-chance recipes (Frost Lord, Shield/Sigil, Circlet, Phantom Mask) are gambles: the consolation returns part of your investment, but not all of it. The Glorious Spellbooks and the Venir's Talisman, on the other hand, are 100% — you pay and you get it, guaranteed.
Weekly limits and reset
Some recipes have a weekly limit per account, shown in the window. The main ones are:
- Talisman of Speed / Talisman of Eva: 5 per week.
- Circlet of Hero: 2 per week. Phantom Mask: 1 per week.
- Selected Jewel Coupon: 10 per week. Spirit Agathion: 20 per week.
The reset is global, every Wednesday at 19:00. Schedule limited crafts near the reset to use two consecutive windows.
Frost Lord weapons, Glorious Spellbooks, Rewards and Blessing crafts have no limit — you can repeat them as long as you have materials.
Tips
- Prioritize the 100%. Venir's Talisman, Spirit Agathion and the Glorious Spellbooks deliver a guaranteed result — no fail surprises.
- Treat Frost Lord like a lottery. At 5.5% per attempt, stock up plenty of Frost Lord's Weapon Crystal and Adena before you start; a failure returns 85 crystals, so the real cost per attempt is lower than it looks.
- Save your Giran Seal. Several crafts (Shield, Sigil, and the talisman fails) revolve around Giran Seal. Stockpile before trying Shield of Vengeance / Sigil of Inevitability.
- Manage L-Coin and Adena together. Talismans and accessories charge L-Coin + Adena; plan both resources so you don't get stuck halfway.
- Blessing is expensive but predictable. It's 50%/50%, and the failure returns your +N item, so you never lose the enchant level — only the Adena and the second copy.
Common mistakes / FAQ
- "I can't select a recipe." Some crafts from the guide are not yet active in this build (because they depend on items the server doesn't have yet), such as Special Armor, Einhasad's Pendant, the Dragon Belt craft, the Agathion Dragon Egg and the Resurrection Cost Decrease spellbook. If you can't confirm, the recipe is disabled.
- "I failed and lost everything." You don't lose everything: most chance-based recipes return a consolation material (Giran Seal, crystals or powder). Check the fail line before confirming.
- "The tab looks empty." Make sure you're on the right tab — Misc. holds Enchant, Rewards and Glorious Spellbooks; the shields are in Armor and Accessories.
- "The result came Sealed." That's normal: many results arrive as a (Sealed) package. Open the package to get the usable item.
Mastering Special Craft comes down to telling the guaranteed crafts from the gambles, and respecting the Wednesday 19:00 reset. Gather your materials, pick the right recipe, and happy crafting on L2 Samuray.
